Paul Joseph Lukacek, 70, of Worth, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024 surrounded by family.
Paul was born on January 8, 1954 to Joseph and Shirley Lukacek in Worth, Illinois. He was a lifelong resident of Worth, marrying Elizabeth Gedmin in 1975 and bringing home their three children, Jane, Phillip and Emily.
Known to many people as Uncle Paul, Mr. Paul, Boss Paul, Coach Paul, and Papa, he opened his heart and home to countless friends and family. With a passion for woodworking, he left behind many mementos for his loved ones. He also enjoyed volunteering in his hometown Worth doing everything from coaching soccer to building haunted houses.
After 45 years of Local 150 service, he was most proud of the 18 years spent with Imperial Crane Services especially winning the 2015 Safety award.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Shirley Lukacek; his brother James Lukacek and his daughter Jane Lukacek.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elizabeth “Ms Liz” Lukacek; children Phillip (Jessica) Lukacek and Emily (Javier) Romero; grandchildren: Giovonni, Gavin, Daisy and Colin; sister Joann (James) Bunyea; sister-in-law Jeannette Lukacek (wife of the late James); many nieces and nephews and his special furry friend Buddy.
Celebration of life will be held at Krapils on June 15, 2024 from 2:00-6:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care.
