William Lewis Kimble died unexpectedly at home on Monday, February 1,2021, at age 71. He was the son of Earl and Elizabeth “Betty” Kimble (nee Wood), and the much-loved brother of Susan (Gary Pyka) of Cary, IL, Jane (Richard Ray) of Cedar Grove, WI, David of Kenosha, WI, and Cindy (Doug) Mueller of Kenosha, WI. He was proud of his role as "big brother" and he cared for all of us deeply. We will truly miss him and his wicked sense of humor. He made us laugh, A LOT.
Born November 23,1949 in Cairo, Egypt, where his father was stationed as a radio operator for TWA, Bill grew up in Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Palatine, Illinois graduating from Palatine High School in 1967. He attended Harper College and was a member of the Air Force. Bill lived for a time in California, before resettling in Illinois. He saw much of the U.S in his 18-wheeler, which he called his job and "playtime." As a civilian contractor, Bill drove trucks in lraq during the war in 2007 and 2008. He was also a proud electronics nerd and loved dabbling in architectural drawing and CAD.
He leaves behind nieces and nephews: Jessica, Scott, A.J., Steven, Matt, and Steve, along with their spouses and children, his late father's wife Rita, many cousins, and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a sister Ruthanne, an infant sister Barbie, as well as many aunts and uncles.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made by Genuine Care Cremation. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
Bill was sweet, and so very kind. He was extremely generous and he had the greatest smile, which we will miss forever.
As Bill's license plate read... B EXCLNT. A good motto, a good man.
